RWJ Hamilton proudly serves the health, educational and social needs of our senior community. Our mission is to promote health via wide-ranging activities such as the 50+ Club; preserve health with screenings and social activities; and restore health by providing excellent care focused on the unique needs of seniors.

Programs

• Comprehensive Health Resources Integrated with Senior Housing (CHERISH) - Clinical services are offered at Hamilton Senior Citizen Housing.
• Senior Centers - Community educators provide classes and screenings at centers in Hamilton, Lawrence, Robbinsville, East Windsor and West Windsor.
• Senior Programs/ Wired Seniors - Classes explore a range of topics affecting older adults such as mental health and medical conditions. Regularly scheduled favorites include Medication Brown Bag and the AARP Driving Class. The Wired Seniors program offers small-group instruction on using a computer, email and the Internet, digital cameras and easy-to-use computer software programs.

• Screenings - Screenings measure hearing losse; cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure levels; and look for the onset of medical conditions such as osteoporosis and cancer.

Medicare Counseling
Free, objective, confidential Medicare counseling is available to seniors. State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) counselors provide objective advice by individual appointment. Call 609.924.2098, ext. 14.

50+ Club
Membership in the 50-Plus Club is free and open to anyone at least 50 years old. Show your card at the hospital.

• Free activities include bridge, walking and knitting.
• Receive Discount for dinner in the hospital's cafe when your loved one is in our hospital.

50+ Club Walkers - Members of this enthusiastic group walk their way to good health and good times. Enjoy increased energy, brighter spirits, weight control, and increased strength and endurance, as well as new friends. Free cholesterol screenings for new walkers.
Meets Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m., Veteran’s Park, Klockner Rd. entrance. Join us!

50+ Club Knitters - Club members knit caps for newborns, articles for patients at Cancer Institute of New Jersey Hamilton and other projects. Experienced knitters as well as novices are welcome; the club's more skilled members are happy to share their knowledge and provide instruction. 
Meets Wednesdays, 10 am to noon at the Center for Health & Wellness.

50+ Bridge Club
If you enjoy playing bridge, have basic knowledge of the game and point system, this club is for you.
Meets Fridays, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Call 609.584.5900.

Lifeline
For real piece of mind, RWJ Hamilton offers Lifeline personal emergency response systems link subscribers to 24-hour assistance at the push of a button.
Subscribers wear a one-ounce button as a pendant or wristband at all times, even while bathing. Pushing the button contacts the Lifeline Central Monitoring Center.  For more information, call 800.543.3546 and mention Code NJ065.
