Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton offers a
variety of special services to make your stay as pleasant and
comfortable as possible. You are welcome to take advantage of
the following services:
Mail
All letters, telegrams, packages or other messages will be delivered
to your room. Please ask your family and friends to address
all mail with your full name and room number, and to include
their return address. Upon discharge, if you wish your mail
to be forwarded to another address, leave the forwarding address
with the nursing staff on your floor.
Flowers
Flowers are delivered to your room by volunteers. Please keep
in mind that large plants and flowers are difficult to deliver
and remove upon discharge.
Notary Public
The services of a notary are available for patients free of
charge. For more information, please call the Patient Relations
Department at ext. 6550 or 584-6550.
For the Hearing Impaired
A TTY (telecommunications device) is available to help hearing
impaired patients or patients who want to communicate with a
hearing impaired relative or friend. Arrangements can also be
made to have a person who uses sign language help a hearing
impaired or deaf patient. For more information, call the Audiology
Department at ext. 6827 or 631-6827. The TTY phone number is
584-5920.
Interpreters
The hospital has access to interpreters for a number of foreign
languages should a patient require one. For more information,
call the Patient Relations Department at ext. 6550 or 584-6550.
Condition Reports
Any personal information about your diagnosis and treatment
must come from your physician, and this information is only
available to you and members of your immediate family whom you
designate to receive it.
Gifts for Patients
Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of
food or drink to patients.
ATM
For your convenience, an Automated Transaction Machine for cash
is located on the lower level in the cafeteria near the vending
machines.
Central Scheduling
If you require outpatient testing, Central Scheduling can provide you and your physician's
office with a convenient and efficient way to schedule procedures by making one phone call.

Transportation Service
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton provides
limited complimentary transportation to individuals who require
therapy, a one day stay, admission to the hospital, or any outpatient
service. Call the Central Scheduling Department at 584-6400
to arrange for a ride. This service is available Monday-Friday,
from 8:45 a.m.-2:15 p.m.
