Health Screening
Early detection is the best defense and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton is your partner in this crusade. Take part in any of the screenings we offer, and take a proactive approach to your health.

  • Colorectal Cancer Screening
Colon and rectal cancer develops in the digestive tract, which is also called the gastrointestinal, or GI tract. Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common cancer diagnosed in Americans.

  • Glucose Screening
To feel good and stay healthy, keep your blood glucose between the highs and lows in a range your doctor advises. You can do it by balancing food, activity, and diabetes pill or insulin. One of your best tools is a blood glucose test.

  • Body Fat Analysis & Blood Pressure
Two of the most telling indicators of risk for future cardiovascular disease are blood pressure readings and body fat percentage. These numbers can help make the difference in healthy lifestyle choices. Know your numbers, know your risks.

  • Skin Cancer Screening
In the United States over one million cases of Skin Cancer have been diagnosed this past year. Melanoma is the deadliest form of this disease, accounting for five percent of all new cases and seventy nine percent of skin cancer deaths.

  • Hearing Screening
Silence is only golden when you choose it. Choose to protect your hearing throughout all the stages of your life.

  • Testicular Cancer Screening
Testicular cancer is typically a young man’s disease. It occurs mostly in men in their twenties and thirties. With timely diagnosis, it is one of the most curable forms of cancer.

  • Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening
Incidences of cancer in women are on the rise while cancer related deaths are decreasing due to early detection and diagnosis. Cervical cancer is easily detected with a regular PAP test.

  • Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Screening
These cancers are responsible for about 13,000 deaths each year. Caught early, such cancers can be treated effectively while avoiding the side effects of radiation and major surgery.

  • Glucose, Cholesterol & Blood Pressure Screening
These are held weekly. Fasting for 12 hours before the test is necessary for accurate results. The test consists of cholesterol fractionation, including HDL, LDL, and Glucose test. Fee: $15. $10 for 50+ club members with card.

  • Prostate Cancer Screening
A simple blood test can detect early stages of this cancer.

  • Foot/Ankle Screening
Foot health is not just the concern of people with Diabetes. So many other conditions can affect our feet---Arthritis, Tendonitis, Bunions, Corns, Heel Spurs, Neuropathy, Hammer Toes, and Ingrown Toenails. Take care to support the part of your body that always supports you.

  • Glaucoma Screening
Glaucoma is a specific pattern of optic nerve damage and visual field loss caused by a number of different eye diseases which can affect the eye. This disease is called the “sneak thief of sight” because it strikes without obvious symptoms. Are you at risk?

These screenings are performed at various times throughout the year. Please call for dates, eligibility and appointments at HealthConnection 609-584-5900.
