"Our sessions are a great way to have an enjoyable time while learning easy ways to keep your family and yourself healthy," says Wendi Silver, Registered Dietitian, who leads healthy cooking classes for RWJ Hamilton. “We have a wonderful relationship with RWJ Hamilton’s medical staff and they frequently lead discussions on important topics such as this month’s lecture on irritable bowel syndrome.”
Most of RWJ Hamilton's healthy cooking classes are taught in the Healthy Cooking Kitchen, a state-of-the-art facility inside the 86,000 square-foot RWJ Hamilton Center for Health & Wellness on Quakerbridge Road in Mercerville, New Jersey. Cameras in front and back of the room send live images of cooking demonstrations directly to two giant flat panel screens; programs are punctuated by graphic presentations, videos and DVDs.
Silver and Barb Ulrich, Weight Management Educator, teach most of the healthy cooking classes. The two specialize in providing fun meal preparation experiences that feature great advice and up-to-date health information. Classes are designed to complement today's busy lifestyles and spotlight good food that doesn't demand hours in the kitchen.
Advance registration is required for all RWJ Hamilton healthy cooking classes through HealthConnection, (609) 584-5900.
