RWJ Hamilton Oncology Pharmacy Tech, Anne Hameed, Wins First-Ever National HOPA Award

HAMILTON, NEW JERSEY – Anne Hameed, CPhT, an oncology pharmacy technician at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton (RWJ Hamilton) and The Cancer Institute of New Jersey Hamilton (CINJ-H), received the first-ever Hematology/ Oncology Technician Award from the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA).

As a HOPA Hematology/Oncology Technician Award winner, Anne will be recognized at the opening ceremony of the annual meeting and will receive a plaque and a travel grant to attend the meeting. The HOPA 2007 Conference will be held in June at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

An Extraordinary Colleague
Oncology Pharmacy Specialist, Heddy Bartell, who manages the infusion pharmacy at CINJ-H, and is Anne's manager, nominated her, noting, "Anne is a true professional, fostering collaboration within our groups, a strong commitment to our practice and dedication to the care of our patients. Anne truly exemplifies and embodies our institution's motto of 'Five-Star Service.' Anne's dedication to the care of our patients doesn't stop at the end of her shift. Since joining RWJ Hamilton in 1996, Anne has been the 'go-to' person and has helped tremendously with the expansion of our oncology program and the opening of our Cancer Center. Anne has a thorough knowledge of chemotherapeutic agents and treatment regimens which has directly benefited patient care."

Anne lives in East Windsor and belongs to the Pharmacy Technicians Certification Board. Anne volunteers many hours of her personal time toward service in her community and is the director of the East Windsor Police Athletic League (PAL) Recreational Soccer program.
