
RWJ Hamilton Physician Receives NJ Medical Society Recognition For 50 Years Of Service

HAMILTON, NEW JERSEY — Wilfredo C. Causing, MD, board certified pathologist at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton (RWJ Hamilton), recently received the Golden Merit Award from the Medical Society of New Jersey (MSNJ). The Golden Merit Award is conferred upon those who are active members of the MSJN and have held the Doctor of Medicine degree for 50 years. In receiving the award, Dr. Causing joins an elite group of physicians.

Dr. Causing is currently a full-time, attending pathologist at RWJ Hamilton and an assistant professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Causing served as Chairman of the Department of Pathology at RWJ Hamilton from 1990 to 1994. He has also served as the hospital’s Chairman of the Credentials Committee, Chairman of the Infectious Disease Committee and Director of the Blood Bank.

Dr. Causing is one of the full-time physicians who joined the medical staff of Hamilton Hospital (now RWJ Hamilton) when it opened its doors in 1971. He is an Emeritus at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton, NJ, and an Honorary at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin, NJ.
A Princeton resident, Dr. Causing will also receive a Certificate of Award from the American Medical Association (AMA) at the AMA House of Delegates 156th Annual Meeting, to be held in Chicago, Illinois, later this month.
