Joan Bercari Named Vice President of Quality

Joan Bercari, RN, MSN, of Bordentown, New Jersey, has been appointed Vice President of Quality at RWJ Hamilton. 

Bercari, who joined RWJ Hamilton in 1985, will oversee quality outcomes and patient safety, patient management, informatics, infection prevention and control, safety, pharmacy, disease management, patient relations and laboratory services.

In her previous role as assistant vice president of quality outcomes at RWJ Hamilton, she led successful hospital and disease-specific Joint Commission surveys, implemented new processes to enhance patient care coordination and improved quality metrics in heart failure, pneumonia, VTE and sepsis care. 

“During more than 30 years at RWJ Hamilton, Joan has filled roles at every level, from nursing and patient care services to quality and clinical informatics,” said RWJ Hamilton President & CEO Richard Freeman. “Her experience working with both our clinical staff and physicians will position RWJ Hamilton for success in our patient safety and quality efforts.” 

Bercari is a graduate of the Helene Fuld School of Nursing in Trenton. She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Walden University.
