RWJ Hamilton Foundation Offers Medical Internship & Scholarship for Students
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton Foundation (RWJ Hamilton Foundation) is accepting applications for The Fruscione Foundation Youth in Medicine internship and scholarship. Students who have demonstrated an interest in science, have a record of academic achievement, and are interested in medicine or the healthcare profession, are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be in their junior year at a secondary public, private or parochial school in Mercer County and a resident of Hamilton Township, NJ.
By May 19, 2014, applicants must submit:
· One-page essay about him/herself or about someone or something that has made an impact on his/her life
· Current academic transcript
· Recommendation letter from a math or science teacher, principal or guidance counselor on the school’s letterhead with an original signature.
As a condition of accepting the scholarship, the recipient will successfully complete a two-week internship at RWJ Hamilton during the summer of 2014. Upon completing the internship and an acceptance letter, a $2,000 tuition scholarship will be sent to the college, university or technical school of his/her choice.
Endowed at RWJ Hamilton in 1996, the Fruscione Foundation Youth in Medicine internship and scholarship was designed to introduce high school students to career opportunities within the medical and/or healthcare professions.
